WHEAT BERRIES

Wheat berries are the edible part of the wheat kernel before the grain undergoes any processing; with the kernel left intact nearly all nutrients remain. They are known for their delicious flavor, texture, and ability to hold their shape when cooked in long simmering stews. You can use this chewy, nutty, high-fiber whole grain as you would any other whole grain. Our organic soft white wheat berries are grown in the USA.

ENJOY AS A HOT CEREAL

Creamy, chewy, and delicious, wheat berries can be prepared like oatmeal and make a healthy and filling breakfast. Bring 3 cups water to a boil and add 1 cup wheat berries while stirring. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook uncovered for about 1 hour or until they reach desired consistency. Drain any remaining water. Serve with cream and brown sugar!

GRIND INTO FRESH FLOUR

When you grind your own wheat you get nutritious whole wheat flour where nothing has been taken out.  By grinding your flour fresh, you can be confident that you’re baking and feeding your family with no hidden or unwanted additives. Freshly ground whole wheat grains contain an amazing lightness and sweet flavor compared to store bought flour, because the germ oil in the grains is still intact and has not gone rancid due to oxidation. It tastes better and is better for you.

SPROUTABLE

Our wheat berries are perfect for sprouting. People who have a sensitivity to wheat may find that their bodies are able to break down wheat in this form thanks to natural enzymes activated through the sprouting process. Consider sprouting your grains ahead of time as it may increase your body’s ability to digest and absorb all the vitamins this delicious grain has to offer.
